Eleven seats, one grinder, and a queue that mostly knows each other. We roast nothing ourselves — we buy it from Wren & Sons, four miles up the road, and pull it properly.

The kitchen stops taking toastie orders half an hour before we close. We shut for a fortnight after Christmas — the dates go on the door in November.
